Dr Yoni Segal gained his DVM degree from Bari University, Italy in 1987.
He has been involved with the poultry industry as a technical and breeding manager for commercial poultry companies in Australia, and in the position of regional technical manager, Asia-Pacific for CEVA Animal Health. He has developed and delivered a comprehensive course designed to update poultry professionals on the latest advances in poultry production and disease control, including sessions on the development of biosecurity and vaccination programs.
Since early 2007 Dr Segal has been engaged in HPAI prevention and control projects in South and South – East Asia, as a consultant for the FAO, STOP-AI, and other international agencies. In this role he has developed and delivered training on biosecurity for government veterinarians, the commercial poultry industry, hatchery and live-bird market operators.
