Some 71,000 egg-laying hens raised on two farms in the eastern Czech Republic (Chocen and Netreby) are to be culled as tests revealed that they have been infected with the avian influenza virus. Rapid tests have so far revealed that the animals have been infected with the H5 type of the virus.
