Newcastle Disease in Bulgaria

Local authorities from the village of Kostelevo have reported an outbreak of the highly contagious Newcastle disease, the agriculture ministry said on Tuesday. The cases were first reported in small farm where authorites imposed a buffer zone to prevent the disease from spreading. Veterinary authorities have culled all 30 chickens, turkeys and ducks at the farm in the village of Kostelevo in northwest Bulgaria. The ministry said there were no poultry farms in the vicinity.
