National and international sources have reported a new outbreak of low pathogenic H5 avian influenza at a farm in Mafra. The General Veterinary Directorate (DGV) has confirmed the outbreak, indicating that the site is located within the security zone established on 21 December. In response, the security zone has been extended, and 16,000 chickens will be culled.
