The veterinary services in Bulgaria have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about two new cases of Newcastle disease (ND). The cases were at Vojdovo in Kardzali province in the south of the country, and at Mamarchevo in Jambold province in the south-east. Both outbreaks started on 3 May and in backyard flocks. In total, 257 birds were involved, of which 135 were affected, 102 died and 144 were destroyed.
