Foster Farms Recalls Chicken Linked to Salmonella

05 July 2014

Foster Farms will recall some of the contaminated chicken linked to a massive salmonella outbreak that has stretched on for 16 months and sickened hundreds of consumers.
The limited recall, which is the only recall the company has issued since March 2013 when it was first linked to an antibiotic-resistant Salmonella Heidelberg outbreak that had sickened around 600 people in 27 states by the end of May. The recall was issued at the request of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA’s FSIS).
