Fowl typhoid is a systemic diseases caused by Salmonella gallinarum. Fowl typhoid can produce disease in poultry in any age. It is an economically important disease of poultry and other birds, with high mortality in young birds. Fowl typhoid has been eradicated from commercially raised poultry in many developed countries, but may persist in backyard flocks.
