Iraq has reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N8 avian influenza in Diyala in the center of the country.
The virus detected n Dec. 27 at a farm of 43,000 birds and killed 7,250 of them. 
The event is Iraq's first H5N8 outbreak since October 2016.
