Japan's Agriculture Ministry confirmed the nation's second outbreak of avian influenza on Tuesday after the deaths of seven chickens on the southern island of Kyushu (in Kyushu's Oita prefecture - green).
Japan's first case of the disease was in January at a farm in Yamaguchi prefecture (red) at the southern end of the main island of Honshu. The two locations are separated by a narrow body of water.
