France elevated the avian influenza risk level from 'moderate' to 'high'

07.12.2023

France has mandated the administration of a third dose of avian influenza vaccine for commercial ducks in high-risk areas. The country elevated the avian influenza risk level from 'moderate' to 'high' following the emergence of new cases in turkey flocks. The three-dose regimen will be implemented from this week until March 15, 2024, specifically in identified high-risk areas focusing on ducks. Up to this point, 6.9 million ducks have received the initial avian influenza vaccine dose, and 3.6 million have received the second dose. The vaccine utilized in this initiative is manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim.
