International conference

Approximately 530 Government Ministers and senior officials (representing more than 120 countries and 26 International and Regional Organizations), representatives of international and regional organizations, non-governmental groups and private entities, and researchers,
participated in the 6th International Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic Influenza in Sharm el Sheikh, hosted by the Government of Egypt on 25-26 October 2008.
The USA, Japan and Norway pledged more than US $350 million: the cumulative total of international assistance pledged since January 2006 has now reached US $3.060 billion.
