EFSA: Scientific Opinion on safety and efficacy of Cygro® 10G for chickens for fattening

11.01.2011

The FEEDAP Panel concluded, based on the results of floor pen studies, field trials and a sensitivity test with field strains, that 5–6 mg maduramicin ammonium α/kg complete feed is effective in controlling coccidiosis in chickens for fattening.

The FEEDAP Panel concluded that the human exposure resulting from the consumption of tissues of chickens treated with the highest proposed level of maduramicin ammonium α in feed complies with the ADI (42 %) after a three-day withdrawal time. MRLs of 0.15 mg maduramicin/kg liver and skin/fat, 0.1 mg/kg kidney and 0.03 mg/kg muscle were proposed.
