Nature of diagnosis: clinical, post-mortem and laboratory (confirmation on 16 November 2005).

Location: Silistea, Constanta county.
Number of susceptible animals: 170 unvaccinated hens (backyard flock).
Number of cases: 170.
Number of deaths: 123.
Number of animals destroyed: 47

Location: Iazurile, Salva Rusa district, Tulcea county.
Number of cases: 1 partridge found dead (OIE).
