Diagnosis: the clinical signs recorded in this farm (mortality, nervous and respiratory signs), as well as the positive serological results obtained and the isolation of APMV1, are suggestive of Newcastle disease.
Location of the suspected outbreak (farm): district of Louvigne-de-Bais, Ille-et-Vilaine departement .
Number of susceptible animals in the suspected outbreak (farm): approximately 8,500.
Number of deaths: 300.
Number of animals destroyed: 8,200.
Description of affected population: fattening pigeons.
Control measures undertaken: stamping out (OIE)
