Two outbreaks of a H5N6 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been reported in poultry in two areas of Vietnam. One in April in Trang Dinh district, Lang Son province and the second in Ky Anh district of Ha Tinh province in June. This is a new strain detected from outbreak surveillance activities.
