Shell eggs imported from Turkey were found with excessive  Sulfamethoxazole residues. The presence of drug residues in eggs above MRL (maximum residues limit) is injurious to human health and considered illegal. The presence of Sulfanomide residues in food is considered to be harmful to consumers.
