Uganda: H5N8 in wild and domestic birds

Uganda announced Sunday it had detected avian influenza H5N8 among migratory birds and domestic birds. The virus had been detected in two locationss, one near Entebbe, on the banks of Lake Victoria, and another in the Masaka distict about 120 kilometres (75 miles) west of Kampala.
Five domestic ducks and a hen in Masaka were also infected.
This is the firts time avian influenza breaks out in Uganda.
