The Ministry of Health of Indonesia has announced a new case of human infection of H5N1 avian influenza. A 30-year-old male from Tangerang District, Banten Province developed symptoms on 13 January 2008, was hospitalized on 19 January and died on 24 January 2008. Investigations into the source of his infection are ongoing.
