Laos

Authorities in Laos detected a fresh outbreak of avian influenza in the north of the country last week and slaughtered all poultry affected.
The government did not say how many birds were infected with the deadly virus, which was detected in a village about 150km north of the ancient royal capital Luang Prabang.
