Epidemiological investigation: From April to October 2013 two further H5 LPAI outbreaks were identified both of them involved commercial holdings and were localized in Lombardy and Campania Region. Lombardia: On 09 Oct 2013 AI virus was found in a commercial holding located in Offlaga municipality (Brescia province). On 10 Oct 2013 the National Reference Laboratory confirmed LPAI virus as H5N3 subtype. All the birds were killed (1330). Campania: On 11 Oct 2013 AI virus was found in a commercial holding (651 birds) located in Scafati municipality (Salerno province). On 14 Oct 2013 the National Reference Laboratory confirmed the LPAI virus as H5N2 subtype.
