A 24-year-old Indonesian man infected with avian influenza died in the capital Jakarta.
Tests confirmed that the man, who died Jan 7, had H5N1 avian influenza.
The Jakarta Post reported that the man died Saturday after being rejected by a hospital specializing in avian influenza, and had on New Year's Eve been misdiagnosed by two other hospitals with a gastric infection and dengue fever.
