An outbreak of avian influenza H5N1 was diagnosed, in a turkey farm in Zavdiel, (southern Israel - north of Kiryat Gat).
The Israeli veterinary Services began destroying 20,000 turkeys 6.5 weeks old.

It is the third farming community discovered in Israel in recent weeks with an avian influenza outbreak.
