Avian influenza was detected in a broiler breeder farm (40 weeks of age), at Ma'ale Ahamisha. The mortality rate is very low 40 out of 30,000 birds in 6 buildings. The preliminary results were obtained from the Kimron Veterinary Institute, Poultry division, by PCR. Including Maale HaHamisha, this is the eighth farm in which the disease has broken out.
