Bulgaria has discovered its first case of H5 avian influenza in a sick swan on its border with Romania. "Our teams found a wild swan in the Danube river near the town of Vidin. The tests on the swan showed it was infected with H5," Agriculture Minister Nihat Kabil told journalists. "We have informed the European veterinary authorities and Bulgaria is preparing a sample from the swan for further tests in the EU-registered laboratory in England."
