Two women in Egypt have tested positive for a lethal strain of avian influenza.
The UN health agency said a 50-year-old woman was hospitalized with the H5N1 strain of the disease on Dec. 24 and is in critical condition. A 22-year-old female chicken seller from Menofia Governorate infected with the same strain was hospitalized Dec. 26 and is recovering in intensive care.
