Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 was confirmed in a turkey flock in Silat al Harithiya, a Palestinian village in the west bank located 10 km Northwest of the city of Jenin.

The flock is 75 days old with a very high mortality rate. Diagnosis was carried out by PCR.
