British five-star hotel's chicken pate poisons 80 guests
Health officials are investigating an outbreak of food poisoning which affected 80 guests at a five-star hotel in Greater Manchester.
Diners at Salford's Lowry Hotel, which is located on the banks of the River Irwell in Salford, reported fever, dizziness, and vomiting after attending a charity bash thrown to raise funds for The Message Trust youth charity.
Around 80 of the 200 people who attended the function have reported feeling ill, with some becoming infected with Campylobacter.
The outbreak is being linked to chicken pate served at a charity dinner and is now being investigated by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and officers from Salford council.
