Samples collected in a commercial holding (16/03/2011) trading at markets and fairs located in Salzano municipality (Venice province), tested positives for Type A, sub-type H5 LPAI Virus. Birds presented at farm: Broilers 24, Laying hens 40, Guinea fowls 5, Ducks 12 and pigeons 10 (Total: 91 birds). Depopulation, cleaning and disinfection ended at 22 march 2011. 
Low Pathogenicity Avian Influenza H7 Outbreak, Piemonte region
On 30 March 2011 15 chickens of a dealer farm located in Cherasco municipality (Cuneo province) were sampled in the frame of the National Control of rural poultry sector.
Serological test confirmed positivity for LPAI subtype H7 was confirmed on 08 April 2011 by the National Reference Laboratory in 5 animals. A total of 2452 birds were present at the farm. Depopulation, cleaning and disinfection ended at 29 April 2011.
