Salmonella: Turkey Burgers Suspect in Multistate Outbreak in the USA

02.04.2011

Jennie-O Turkey Store, a Minnesota-based company, is recalling nearly 55,000 pounds of frozen, raw turkey burgers that may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Twelve people are ill with Salmonella infection in 10 states -- Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Washington, and Wisconsin.

As a result of the epidemiologic investigation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) determined that there is a link between the Jennie-O ground turkey products and this illness outbreak.
