Avian influenza in Iran

Finally Iran reports cases of avian influenza H5N1 in the country. The reported cases are from Balazarrin Kola and Khaj Kola (both in Mazandaran province) in a Free-range ducks (backyard). The disease killed 345 free-range ducks and a further 2,337 of the birds were destroyed. According to bird numbers it seems more likely as commercial flocks (2285 and 397 respectively).
