Avian influenza has infected a second backyard flock in rural Richland, Benton County south-central Washington. The second flock was exposed to the highly pathogenic H5N2 virus by domestic ducks transferred from the first infected flock. The current flock contains 500 birds. The 500 birds in the mixed Richland flock included chickens, turkeys, ducks and guinea fowl.
