Preliminary testing by the province of Ontario has confirmed the presence of H5N2 avian influenza on a turkey farm near Woodstock. Meat turkey commercial farm with 4 barns. One barn is affected, with approximately 75% mortality. Age of the birds in the affected barn: 16 weeks. The farm, and a neighbouring farm, have been placed under quarantine to control disease spread. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said 7,500 of 34,000 turkeys on the affected farm died, and the rest will be euthanized.
