Egg-Cite.com reports an outbreak of Avian Influenza in Germany: "According to a personal communication from Prof. Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst a localized case of H7N7 avian influenza characterized as a low pathogenicity strain was diagnosed in an egg-production unit near Herzlake, Lower Saxony.
The unit of 36,000 laying hens was depleted and the implementation of surveillance is in effect."
