3rd Case of Highly Pathogenic H5N2 Avian Influenza in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed the presence of highly pathogenic H5N2 avian influenza (HPAI) in a third commercial flock of 38,000 turkeys in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.  This is the fourteenth confirmation in a commercial flock in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Turkey Growers Association estimates the state's turkey producers have lost $15.7 million worth of birds to avian influenza outbreaks in recent weeks.
