Three shipments of live poultry, ordered online from an infected producer in Iowa, were sent to small farms in Georgia, including two near Fitzgerald and one in Meriwether County.
The poultry - as well as existing flocks at the farms - were euthanized Tuesday (June 16).
The Iowa producer sent shipments to 37 states before learning that the poultry were infected.
Arizona faced a similar threat. On June 15, agriculture officials quarantined 13 quail and chickens and about 40 quail and partridge eggs that came from an Iowa farm where birds tested positive for HPAI.
