Two cases of HPAI in Sac and Hamilton counties - Iowa

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is responding to two cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Sac and Hamilton counties. 

Sac 8 – Turkey farm with an estimated 42,200 birds that has experienced increased mortality. Initial testing showed it positive for H5 avian influenza. 

Hamilton 4 – Turkey farm with an estimated 19,600 birds that has experienced increased mortality. Initial testing showed it positive for H5 avian influenza.
