Ghana: more cases of avian influenza

11.06.2015

Ghana’s veterinary officers have culled over 1000 birds at Kpone in the Greater Accra region following the confirmation of avian influenza in the country by an Italian laboratory. Hundreds of birds have already been culled at poultry farms at Achimota where the disease was detected. The samples taken from the farm were sent to Italy after they tested positive by the Accra Veterinary Laboratory and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
