Highly pathogenicd avian influenza in Sioux county - Iowa

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is responding to one case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) at a commercial laying operation in Sioux County. With the new announcement, Iowa now has 50 cases of the disease in the state. 

Sioux 11 – A commercial laying operation with an estimated 238,000 birds that has experienced increased mortality. Initial testing showed it positive for H5 avian influenza.
